NFPA is looking for nominations for the 2021 James M. Shannon Advocacy Medal, which acknowledges hearth and life safety advocates who’ve made huge contributions in lessening losses from fire, electrical, and other hazards.
Named for former NFPA President James Shannon, the award honors people or agencies that champion least expensive efforts and collaboration, whereas furthering NFPA’s mission. As part of his lengthy listing of advocacy achievements in fireplace loss discount, Shannon led the Coalition for hearth-protected Cigarettes, paving the style for legislations on minimum fire defense standards for cigarettes in every state.
NFPA considers nominees who are contributors of the hearth service or anyone or group whose advocacy efforts meet the award’s criteria.
